The Minnesota Office of Higher Education administers the Student Educational Loan Fund (SELF), which is a long-term, low-interest student loan. AAHW is a participating school in the Minnesota SELF Loan program. SELF loans are available to borrowers who are enrolled in an eligible school in Minnesota, or Minnesota residents who are enrolled in an eligible out-of-state school. To qualify for a SELF loan, borrowers must be enrolled at an eligible school at least half-time, maintain satisfactory academic progress, be up-to-date on student loan payments, and have a creditworthy cosigner for the loan. At AAHW, half-time enrollment is a minimum of 8 credits. SELF loans are available on a fixed-rate or variable-rate basis. Annual loan limits depend on the program, with a current loan limit of $40,000 for graduate programs.
Students interested in a SELF loan should discuss their options with AAHW’s Financial Aid Administrator. For additional information on SELF loans including current interest rates and loan repayment schedules, or to fill out a loan application form, visit www.Selfloan.state.mn.us.
