Naturopathic Doctor, Acupuncturist, and Biofeedback Therapist, specializes in helping people
who suffer from autoimmune conditions, mental health problems, and chronic pain, who want
to feel better, more alive, and live their lives fuller and unlimited by the conditions they’re
diagnosed with.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will provide acupuncture treatments to patients experiencing a variety of
health conditions. You will be expected to practice acupuncture based upon holistic medicine to
improve and maintain health through the stimulation to acupuncture points and channels using
needles and manual stimulation. This position will be caring for patients using a direct care
system of healthcare ensuring you are fully vested in your patient’s health. This job description
represents the major functions of the position, but it is not intended to be all-inclusive. If you
are open and interested in functional and holistic medicine, willing to grow with the clinic into a
managerial role this position is for you.
Responsibilities
The Acupuncturist position responsibilities include but not limited to:
Actively listen to patients address their concerns and share their history in order to
conduct an initial consultation before establishing a detailed case history by
assessing their physical, mental, and emotional health;
Determine an appropriate treatment plan and explain the diagnosis and treatment
to patients while responding to their questions as well as concerns;
Devise a “point prescription” by applying light to heavy pressure with their trained
hands and feel around Acupuncture points on the patient’s body to determine
where to place a needle;
Collaborates with practitioners, physicians and other related personnel regarding
progress of patients as needed;
Document history, diagnosis, and treatment in electronic medical record system;
Assess patient progress through questioning and examination as well as reviewing
treatment plans, if necessary;
Ability to stretch, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.;
Willing to participate in marketing activities to promote the clinic and fill patient
schedule;
Ensure all safety, infection, quality and environmental procedures and rules are in
place and used (e.g., needles and other tools);
Ensure safe and effective client experience, responding to and reporting any
accidents and/or incidents;
Uphold YGGDRASIL NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE ’s mission, vision, values and ethical
standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in
our policies and procedures;
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations;
Obtain, maintain, and provide required certification and proper licensing related to
acupuncture.
Work Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred, but not required. New graduates are
welcome to apply.
Work Hours
Part-time with potential option to move to a full-time schedule;
Rotating schedule:
o Tuesday/Friday – alternating every other week
o Wednesday/Thursday – alternating every other week
o Potentially some evenings and weekend hours
Education Qualifications
Master’s degree in acupuncture
Licensure/Certification Qualifications
Licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Minnesota
